My first time in Sydney was amazing!!! I stayed in the beautiful Surry Hills at the City Crown Motel. The location of this place was great, stuck in between adorable cafes, op shops, restaurants, many pubs and of course only a short walk to Oxford street! Although must say that my hayfever definitely increased, watery eyes galore!
We visited the weekend that the Sydney Opera House turned 40, and we were right there as the clock ticked over 🙂
I printed off a bucket list for Sydney, from http://www.timeout.com.au and it was THE BEST EVER! So helpful, I use this site a lot. Not only did we be tourists and see all the sights we also enjoyed some short walks, cockatoo island and saw a Fashion Exhibition which showcased fashion over the past 10 years.

Back to basics…Hyde Park and the Botanical Gardens were just gorgeous! The Sydney Harbour Bridge was also very spectacular. Next time I would love to climb it, very expensive, about $180 per person. We took the ferry from Darling Harbour to Circular Quay which was a great little trip and very cheap.
I am originally from Perth, and now that I live in Melbourne, I must say, Sydney is a cross between the two! Surry Hills was a gorgeous and quiet place with beautiful tree lined streets. Very close to Central Station and only a 20 minute walk to Circular Quay, would highly recommend this area to anyone! Also extremely easy to get to the infamous Bondi – a 2 minute walk then a bus and your there in 15 minutes, rather amazing beach.
On the Saturday night we attended a Comedy show starring Rob Schnider and a Australian Comedian at the Sydney Opera House. They were both hilarious and would easily have been one of the best experiences ever.
Enough about my trip, lets talk about the fashion! To be honest, I didn’t see too much that people were wearing…was a little disappointed =( However, on a good note I saw a lot of amazing things is store, especially, the smaller boutiques. I managed to pick up an adorable striped jumpsuit from an op shop in Surry Hills (see below), it was fantastic and worked perfect with the weather!
Shoes: Betts (so comfortable to walk in with a little bit of a heel also)
It was very interesting, thrilling and inspiring to stumble across the Fashion Exhibition at the state library – incredible to see all the different things over the years.
I will finish up with my favourite fashion quote from this trip being;
You are not here to make art, you are here to show the buttons and the bows – Carmel Snow 1949 ♥
