Runway to Every Day recap

This was a real-world runway event which took place on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th September. I had a large part in organizing this runway event, as well as, organizing a goodie bag and nibbles. I work for a company called Style with Cindy and this year we worked in collaboration with Chadstone – The Fashion Capital to showcase Runway to Every Day.

Last year I was also a Fashion Stylist Assistant to Cindy Newstead with the dressing of our “real” models for her bi-annual Style Review. In previous years, this has been a private event held at Leonda by the Yarra with a little more of a glamorous feel. Below you will see a picture of myself and 2 other work colleagues at the Style Review last year.

But, I can tell you now it was definitely a different experience this time round working with the centre! Last year for Spring/Summer 13 we used 3 outfits per each model (6) in one full block brand, this year, we tried to mix and match brands from different stores to show the audience how they can pull an outfit together using a range of items. We also had our first male on the runway this year, which was rather exciting.

Although, this is not my demographic, I thoroughly enjoy working on the runways and love the challenge of dressing a real body shape. You can really see the happiness in their eyes when they too can see how amazing they look! Again as I said, this was a real-world runway which means we showcased sizes from size 6 to 16!

Stores we used included Ted Baker, Thurley, Kookai, Alannah Hill, Sportsgirl, French Connection, Santini, Ninewest, Aquilla, Politix, Country Road, Seed, Jag, Veronika Maine and Cue. Below you will see one group photo, the models are wearing their third after 5 outfits, I am wearing Ted Baker on the far left, Georgia Barnes (stylist from Style with Cindy) is wearing Alannah Hill and Cindy is wearing Thurley.
